Spring is Here - Oldie but Goodie
Since my craft room is still dismantled because of the flood, I thought I'd repost some of my favorite older projects. I made this card in March 2010 as a get well card to send to my mom. Similar to March of that year, we are still awaiting the warmer days of spring here in the Midwest.
Thanks for popping in!
Supplies:
Stamps: Artistic Outpost; Bazzill brown cardstock; Stampin' Up! kraft cardstock; decorative papers by 7 Gypsies; Versamark ink; clear embossing powder; peeled paint and walnut stain distress ink; Archival jet black ink; Stampin' Up! small oval and scalloped oval punch; Karen Foster scrapbooker's floss; old button from my stash; Fiskars border punch; pop-dots.

Out of Commission for a While
Our basement got flooded last weekend, so I won't be making any art for a while. I didn't lose a lot of supplies: my collection of vintage books and sheet music mainly, in addition to some paper, a few magazines and art books, and the base of my work surface. But, whatever didn't get waterlogged had to be packed up quickly and moved out in order to remove the carpeting and start the drying process. And since the rest of the basement (including my home office), needs to be dealt with also, it will probably be a while before I'm able to set up shop to do any rubber stamping or mixed media work.I see this time as the perfect opportunity to do some cleaning, reorganizing, and decorating. And perhaps I can try my hand at painting outdoors, now that spring is on the horizon and my watercolor supplies were safe in another part of house. So I hope to post occasionally about topics that may be of interest to you.
I hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for popping in!

Olive Wrote Home Once a Week - ATC
I've signed up for an ATC swap where we're to use a map in some way. I've been gathering materials to do a World War I series, but in the meantime I played around with some scraps I had to make this card.
The background is a vintage atlas map and the O/8 card is also vintage. I had die-cut the letter O out of the middle to use on my Altered Bingo Card Nametag. The remaining piece made a perfect frame for this photo booth gal that was in a Stampington magazine I received recently.
Thanks for stopping by! TGIF.
Supplies:
ATC cardstock blank; vintage map and sheet music; vintage Crossword Lexicon playing card; vintage postage stamps; Hero Arts rubber stamps; clipart woman from Stampington and Company; black soot and frayed burlap distress ink; Stazon black ink; Tim Holtz pen nib; charcoal pencil; Pitt black artist pen.

Gearing Up
I created this card to send to my dad for his birthday.
I stamped the two dudes by Artistic Outpost on smooth cardstock, colored them with pencils, and then adhered them to a Tim Holtz paper that looks like a vintage map. The metal gears are also a Tim Holtz product.
It's snowing again here today. I may have to shovel twice just to keep up. I'd much rather be doing something else.
Supplies:
Brown cardstock by Bazzill; kraft and very vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up; central image from Artistic Outpost; Adirondack black permanent ink; Prismacolor Premier pencils; odorless mineral spirits; charcoal pencil; patterned papers and miscellaneous metal gears by Tim Holtz; frayed burlap distress ink; round and scalloped round Nestabilities by Spellbinders; corner rounder punch; pop dots.

Brotherly Thank You
It snowed while I was on vacation recently and my brother came over and removed the snow from the driveway and sidewalk for me. It was so nice to know that this was taken care of and not waiting for me when I got home. And I think he actually enjoyed using my big, bad snowblower (it really does an awesome job, which I was reminded of today as I dealt with five inches of new snow).
To thank him, I got a gift card for his favorite home improvement store and will send it in this card. For the background I layered several papers by My Mind's Eye that were punched with a scalloped edge. The central image by Artistic Outpost was stamped on a solid paper from the same pack, colored with Prismacolor pencils, and distressed with pumice stone distress ink.
Thanks for stopping by!
