I haven't had much mojo for crafting this week, but I finally managed to finish a card using some of the first Basic Grey papers I ever bought.
The image and sentiment are from Artistic Outpost. I ended up with a ragged edge on the bottom paper when an old border punch stuck. Rather than start over, I decided to just "go with the grunge" and embossed the piece with the distressed stripes folder.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!
Supplies:
Stamps: Artistic Outpost; brown and rust cardstock by Bazzill; patterned papers by Basic Grey; Stazon black ink; Prismacolor Premier pencils; Cuttlebug; distressed stripes embossing folder; Fiskars border punch; walnut stain distress ink; twine; old button; pop-dots.

Cheers to You, Dad!
The handsome young soldier on the right is my dad in the 1950s. His army buddy won a big jackpot playing bingo at the enlisted men's club, so they ordered a bottle of champagne.
My dad had kind of a wild youth, but he settled down to become a wonderful husband and father. He's a hard worker, a good provider, and devoted to his family. My brothers and I are very fortunate!
I didn't have much time for crafting this past week, because my mom and I had a garage sale (aka yard sale or rummage sale). Today was the final day and I am exhausted. But we got rid of quite a few items, made a little cash, and donated the leftovers to Goodwill. We are all looking forward to a relaxing Sunday.
Happy Father's Day to all you dads and granddads!

Father's Day Plymouth Fury
When my dad got out of the service and started working, he bought himself a 1958 Plymouth Fury. The car was fast and flashy, and I can't tell you how many times I've heard the stories about the fights and the drag races he was in because of it. This was the car he had when my parents were dating and going to dances, and it holds a lot of fond memories for them both. Unfortunately, they had to sell the car once us kids started coming along, as it was a two-door coupe and had a lot of miles on it.
My father's day card this year was inspired by his infamous Fury, which was beige and gold and had the quintessential 1950s fins. I specifically bought this Route 66 stamp set by Artistic Outpost to use on a card for my dad. I bet he can even identify the car in the main image.
Thanks for dropping by!
Supplies:
Stamps from Artistic Outpost; cinder cardstock by Bazzill; yellow cardstock by S.E.I.; very vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up; patterned paper by K and Company; Stazon black ink; round and scalloped round Nestabilities; pop-dots.

Hampton Art Beauty
I recently created this card to send to a friend's mother who had surgery. My friend likes the card so much, she wants to keep it for herself! Instead of that, I decided to send her her own easel card.
I bought these papers by Jenni Bowlin while on vacation last year. Each sheet is only four inches square which makes them perfect for smaller projects.
Have a great day!
Supplies:
Black cardstock by Bazzill; very vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up; decorative papers by Jenni Bowlin; main image by Hampton Art Stamps; sentiment from Stampin' Up; Stazon black ink; antique linen distress ink; Prismacolor Premier Pencils; odorless mineral spirits; round and scalloped round Nestabilities; small oval and scalloped oval punch from Stampin' Up; Martha Stewart border punch; small black brads; Glossy Accents; pop-dots.

Ginger Knew How to Sparkle
Here's another card using one of the new stamps by Hampton Art that I received as a birthday present. This particular image reminds me of Ginger Rogers and the musical comedies that she and Fred Astaire did together in the 1930s.
I colored my Ginger with Prismacolor pencils and applied Glossy Accents to her top and belt for added shine and dimension. This card has a lot of sparkle thanks to the shimmery papers and rhinestones.

Gracias Bonita Banana
I have met some wonderful women through my hobby of rubber stamping and making cards. They're talented, fun, and so thoughtful. They even sent me prezzies for my birthday! That gives me the opportunity to make some thank you cards specifically for them.
I colored the flapper image (a gift from Bonita Banana) with Prismacolor pencils and used Glossy Accents on her hat and pearls for added dimension. The decorative papers are by Jenni Bowlin.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Sophisticated Lady
Today's teenagers may still be kids to us old-timers, but they have been exposed to some pretty heavy subjects thanks to all of the electronic media available and our 24/7 news cycle. So when I needed to make a high school graduation card for a friend's daughter, I decided to go with a sophisticated look.
I combined my flapper image with a gorgeous shimmery paper by My Little Yellow Bicycle and some rhinestones for additional bling. The silver paper is actually a Christmas stationery that I found at Target a couple of years ago.
It's another hot and humid day here. Thank goodness for central air! Thanks for stopping by.

Poppin' Poppies
I saw some poppies in someone's yard last week when I was out and about, and just loved how the flowers popped out of the landscape thanks to their bright orange color and large blossoms. I'm seriously thinking that we need to plant some in our yard! In the interim, I will make do with my poppy rubber stamp.
I stamped the image on a page from an old German book and colored it with Prismacolor Premier pencils. I added some tarnished brass distress Stickles to the flower centers.
I hope you're having a grand weekend!
Supplies:
Black cardstock by Bazzill, orange cardstock unknown; very vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up; German book page; patterned paper by K and Company; poppy stamp by Inkadinkado; postmark stamp by Stampa Rosa; French postage stamp by Tim Holtz; Stazon black ink; antique linen distress ink; Prismacolor Premier pencils; odorless mineral spirits; tarnished brass Distress Stickles; Glossy Accents; Tim Holtz Damask embossing folder; round and scalloped round Nestabilities by Spellbinders; butterfly punch and border punch by Martha Stewart; pop-dots.

Gypsy Wish Easel Card
Since I still had the easel card tutorial on my craft table, I decided to make another one because I think it makes the cutest little card. I have a long list of greeting cards to make right now--graduation, get well, thank you, and Father's Day will be here before we know it!
This card features another beautiful paper from the Basic Grey Curio line. I chose this particular image because I thought the flowers in the woman's hair mimicked the flowers in the paper. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and used Glossy Accents on the flowers to add dimension.
Here's a close-up of my gypsy girl. I bought this stamp at a rummage sale and it was self-mounted, so I don't know the manufacturer. If you recognize it, please leave a comment because I would like to know whose image it is.
Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!
