I created this card for a friend who shares my birthday. At one time he had both a Harley and a BMW motorcycle. And even though his nickname is Crash, I hopped on the back of his bike and went for a ride. Now, I don't think the shock absorbers could handle it. LOL
I used several stamps from Artistic Outpost's Route 66 set. The motorcycle was heat embossed and adhered with pop-dots for added dimension.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamps: Artistic Outpost; black cardstock by Bazzill; very vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up; patterned paper by Basic Grey; black pigment ink by Color Box; olive green solvent ink by StazOn; rusty hinge and brushed corduroy distress ink; clear embossing powder; corner rounder punch; pop-dots.

Nor Shall Their Story Be Forgot
Today we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to the United States. Although "Decoration Day" began after the Civil War, I think its observance has become more poignant again due to the number of soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan the last ten years.

Time is Money ATC
I have not made an ATC in quite a while. Actually, I haven't made much of anything lately. What with work, family commitments, and an injured foot that required elevation, I just haven't been able to sit down at my craft table for any length of time recently. But the foot is on the mend and I am looking forward to more leisure time once summer hits.
We received an advertisement in the mail that included this image of Benjamin Franklin on a faux 100 dollar bill, and it was the perfect size for an ATC. The quote is from a 1941 edition of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations that I purchased at an antique store.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Cardstock ATC base; background paper by Prima; advertising image; white acrylic paint; brushed corduroy and dusty concord distress inks; medium charcoal pencil; copper border sticker by Starform; small sequin waste.

Simply Wonderful Mother's Day
Our Mother's Day is going to be pretty low-key this year because I've been laid up for over a week with a bum foot! I got a blister on my baby toe from a new pair of sandals, and it got infected, and it's been a real pain in the you-know-what. But after two visits to the doctor, a round of antibiotics, and three (THREE!) straight days sitting or lying with my foot "10 inches above my heart," I am finally on the mend.
I did manage to create this card for my mom using my new stamp from Magenta and one of my favorite techniques: colored pencils blended with odorless mineral spirits. The three flowers come in one vertical stamp. I simply cut the images after coloring them since I wanted a horizontal card. I accented the blossoms and foliage with Glossy Accents for added dimension.
Wishing all of you moms, grandmas, "aunties," and special friends a Happy Mother's Day!
Supplies:
Colored cardstocks by Bazzill or C'oredinations; white cardstock by Georgia Pacific; whisper white cardstock from Stampin' Up; black Stazon ink; mustard seed distress ink; flower stamp by Magenta; sentiment from Stampin' Up; Prismacolor Premier pencils; odorless mineral spirits; Swiss dots embossing folder; Martha Stewart border punch; corner rounder punch; oval die cut by Spellbinders; Glossy Accents; silver brads.

Something Gorgeous About Him
I enjoy making masculine cards and have quite a few guys that I routinely make cards for. I find that men like to receive a hand-crafted card just as much as women do, as long as the subject matter is appropriate and the card isn't too frilly.
I made this for my friend Joe who will be celebrating his birthday this weekend. I used four different patterned papers from Basic Grey's Little Black Dress collection and Splitcoaststampers' Sketch Challenge #308. I haven't used any photo turns in a long time but they are a great hardware choice for a masculine card.
This card reminds me of an old quilt we had when we were kids that was made out of men's shirt material. The quilt was heavy but the maker must have used cheap batting because most of it ended up in big lumps in the corners. Isn't it funny the things we remember from childhood?
TGIF! Have a great weekend.
Supplies:
Stamp: Artistic Outpost; black cardstock by Bazzill; soft suede cardstock from Stampin' Up; patterned papers by Basic Grey; black Stazon ink; brushed corduroy distress ink; Martha Stewart border punch; photo turns; pop-dots.
