Peaceful Prancer Deux #6

This is my sixth Christmas card using the same image and papers, and although I have enjoyed this series, I am ready for a change.  Tomorrow starts a new week and a new direction!

The large reindeer from The Cat's Pajamas was gold embossed on vintage sheet music sprayed with homemade glimmer mist.  The patterned papers are by My Mind's Eye.

Time ATC

I made this card over the weekend for the Collage-a-thon at ATCs for All, and soon it will be heading to fellow ATC enthusiast Chardonnay1965 in Australia. 

The stamps by Cornish Heritage Farms were in a huge box of blog candy from Stephanie at Ingenious Inkling.  I believe CHF is now out of business so I feel fortunate to have these images.  The punched butterflies received a coat of Glossy Accents for added dimension.

Snowflake Santa

This was my final Christmas card for 2010 but it's also one of my favorites.  This color scheme has been really big in home decorating the last couple of years, and I can see why.  It's absolutely YUMMY.

My Santa is from Artistic Outpost and the decorative papers are by Memory Box. The snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart border punch; I just held on to them after punching my cardstock and then glued them on the top in a random pattern.

The countdown to Christmas is almost over!  Are you ready?

Christmastide Greetings

I was at the main post office ten minutes before it opened this morning, and was fifth in line in order to mail two Secret Santa packages and the majority of my Christmas cards.  I have a few more cards to make but I'm in good shape, even if it is just one week until the big day.

I love the Memory Box papers on this card and am so glad that I bought two packages of this particular collection.  My Santa is from Artistic Outpost and I colored him with Prismacolor Premier pencils.

North Pole Post

We received our first measurable snowfall over the weekend.  We got only an inch at our house, but we still had to shovel because the temperatures were heading down and the snow would not melt on its own.  With weather like that, I don't mind staying indoors and being crafty.  Besides, it was high time I started working on my Christmas cards.  If you're on my Christmas card list (and you know who you are), you may not want to read any further!

The focus of this card is an ATC-sized collage with some easy stamping, a colored Santa, and the right amount of distress ink to age everything.  The "Dec 24" was stamped on another piece of paper, inked up, cut out, and adhered to the card to mimic a postage stamp.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We had a pretty big snow storm and blizzard conditions here last week. Some areas had a foot of snow or more and the wind was creating drifts as deep as six feet out in the country. The kids had three snow days in a row! I hope this isn't an indicator of the type of winter we're going to have.

I was able to mail most of my Christmas cards before the storm hit. Many of them featured this cute Santa image that I colored with my Prismacolor pencils. I love the tranquil blue tones of this particular card.

Some of my Christmas cards this year featured a new technique for me: sewing! I've never been too interested in sewing, but I see so many paper crafters doing it and the look really enhances vintage-style items. So I broke down and bought myself a Janome Sew Mini, which is like a beginner's sewing machine. It's very portable and includes three sizes of zigzag stitch.
