Poison? Nah....

A buddy of mine had a scary (no pun intended!) fall at home and after a lengthy hospital stay, he is now in a care center for rehab.  He doesn't want any visitors yet so I put together a small Halloween care package to brighten his day.

I started by making another quick skeleton card.  Using an old credit card, I scraped some gesso rather thickly onto an old book page.  I stamped the skeleton and a little crackle background, then stenciled on some distress inks through a piece of punchinella.

I also created this 2-5-7-10 box to hold some poison, I mean, candy treats.  I've made some of these before and they are super easy.  You can find the tutorial here on Splitcoaststampers.  Make sure you use a sturdy cardstock for the box (I used Stampin' Up basic black cardstock which is an 80 lb paper) and extra strong adhesive.  I decorated the box using a patterned paper by Authentique and images from Oxford Impressions and Artistic Outpost.

It's hard to put together a care package for a man, but he likes to do crossword puzzles so I included a couple of puzzle books and some mechanical pencils. I hope he enjoys the surprise.

Apothecary Shop Treat Boxes

Look at these cute Halloween treat boxes I created to send to my parents using more new stamps from Oxford Impressions.  Each box holds about 5 or 6 small ("fun-sized") candy bars, are easy to make, and can be decorated a zillion ways.

  You'll want to use a heavy cardstock for the base (I used Stampin' Up's black).  The patterned papers are by Authentique.  The images were stamped on vanilla cardstock and colored with distress inks.  I think I'm in love with the skeleton, which has great detail yet is easy to cut out.

2-5-7-10 Joyeux Noel Boxes

I'm doing a Secret Santa gift exchange with some friends and wanted to include a little something for their families.  I finally settled on creating a 2-5-7-10 box for each of them and filling it with their favorite candies.

I used heavy kraft cardstock for the base of the boxes and decorated them with stamps from Artistic Outpost.  To finish off the vintage look, I lightly inked all of the edges with distress ink and tied the boxes with twine from the hardware store.  Here is a close-up of one of the boxes.

I'm very pleased with how the boxes look and I can't wait to hear what my friend and her family thinks, especially when they find their favorite bite-sized treats inside. Thanks for stopping by!
